One table. The whole city.
Nothing in the quarter stands above this terrace. Turn once where you sit and you have gone round the whole of Marrakech.
The sun sets once a day.
And there is only one row of tables against the railing. It is the one sitting genuinely worth calling ahead for — not because we are full, but because everyone wants the same seat.

The bulbs come on, the oud starts.
The terrace changes character at dusk: strung bulbs under the iron pergola, the Koutoubia lit in the distance, and more often than not musicians playing between the tables. Nobody hurries you back down the stairs.
A terrace for summer, salons for winter.
Below the terrace, three salons — Ambre, Rouge and Kibir — carved plaster and low banquettes. The tea room is air-conditioned in summer and heated in winter: this house works in every season, not only in spring.
